The Phil.-hum. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities promotes equal opportunities for students, lecturers, researchers and staff in all diversity categories. It considers equal opportunities for all diversity groups central to research and teaching excellence.

Here, you will find a selection of places to contact. If you have a personal concern, you can make an appointment with a commission member, too. It helps to talk to someone you trust!

The Office for Equal Opportunities advises all university members and university units on topics related to diversity and equal opportunities (incl. gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, chronic diseases and mental health, ethnic and social origin).

The Office of the ombudsperson is an independent authority in case of conflicts for all employees of the University of Bern.

The Universities of Bern Counselling Centre provides free and confidential personal counselling and coaching to all students and employees of the University of Bern. 

Sexual harassment: Affected persons can report an incident to the contact person and then decide whether to make a report.

The Human Resources Office ensures proper personnel and salary administration for all employees.

The Legal Services Office advises members of the university management, the faculties and other university units as well as the departments of the university administration on university matters.

Legal advice from the MVUB (for members only): The Intermediate Staff Association (Mittelbauvereinigung; MVUB) supports various concerns. 

Legal Aid Service and Social Fund of the SUB (for members only): The Student Union of the University of Bern (SUB) offers various services.
