Starting in 2025, PhD workshops will be offered to strengthen the mental health of doctoral students.
We warmly invite all PhD students of the Phil.-hum. Faculty to the first workshop („Workshop on promoting mental Health for PhD Students“). In an interactive format, we will jointly explore the mental health challenges commonly faced during the PhD journey and develop strategies to foster well-being and sustainable work practices in academia. The workshop offers space for reflection, exchange, and hands-on exercises. The event will take place on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, from 16:00 to approximately 19:00, at the Institute of Sport Science (Room A007, Bremgartenstrasse 145, 3012 Bern). All participants are warmly invited to an apéro afterwards. Further information can be found in the flyer below.
Please register by 31 October 2025 via the following link or directly by sending an email to florence.epiney@unibe.ch.
The Lunchtalks aim to mentor mid-level staff in an informal setting. The talks focus on topics related to academic careers. The invited lecturers usually give a short keynote speech (15-30 minutes). Questions/concerns are then discussed, and the participants exchange ideas on further topics with the lecturer.
The next Lunchtalk will take place on Thursday, 6 November 2025, from 12:30 to 14:00 with Prof. Regula Everts at VonRoll (Fabrikstrasse 8, Room B007). The title of the lunch talk is: "Two Careers, One Life? Reflections on Managing Science, Family, and Dual Career". More information can be found on the flyer. Information on the series of lunchtalk events can be found under ‘Courses and Events’.
The event serves to promote knowledge among the faculty members about the various topics related to the diversity categories. The information and discussion event consists usually of a keynote lecture and a panel discussion with various experts on a topic related to the diversity categories. Topics rotate through the various diversity categories (i.e. age, ethnic origin, social background and status, sexual orientation and gender identity).
Future events in this series will be posted here.
